You know how much I hate rating systems, but to me a 7 means that if you aren't really a fan of the genre that the game isn't going to change your mind. However if you are a fan of the genre then you are likely to enjoy the game.
Of course I also think that if you make your choices based on numbers that don't really mean anything that you need to step out of line and learn to think for yourself. Is it that hard to form your own opinion?

Some 7/10 games have provided me with way more hours of fun than some supposed AAA games.
For example, EDF2017>>>>Gears of War.

I got a ton more hours of fun from Gothic 2 than I did from Halo. Still, Halo got praises, while Gothic 2 was lost in the haze of low marketed, obscure European RPGs. In general, Gothic 2, hardly ever rated above a 7 in anyone's review, yet it's one of my favorite games of all time.

That's a PC only title, isn't it? I'd like to play it, but if it's PC only, I won't be able to.

Yeah, unfortunately. I think all the Gothic games were PC only. Maybe 3 made the 360 because of Oblivion's success, but that one was bugged as hell.
