Well, I kind of like Nathan Drake, although I think he's a real idiot for passing up on Chloe at the end of Uncharted 2. There's a lot of things that I liked and in spite of it not making sense in a number of things, that's not the part I focused on. I was more inclined in having fun with it than "well, how can he do all those stuff"? I mean, Indiana Jones was an academic professor and look at all the shit he's done! And even Ash, from the Evil Dead movies, was nothing more than an employee at a convenience store (Shop Smart, shop s-mart!). I really see no reason why Nathan Drake can't.

Of course, you are entitled to your opinion and I'm not trying to enforce my views on you. It's just how I view Uncharted, care little about realism and practicality and try to have as much fun as possible.

If you're trying to have as much fun as possible, why the fuck are you playing Uncharted?

Oh, and allow me to hate on Tecmo Bowl Throwback: It fucking sucks. I tried the demo and deleted it within minutes. Bleh. I went on gamefaqs and experienced Tecmo Bowl fans are pissed as well. They are saying that the online is broken and the developers made it so that the quarterbacks underthrow the ball too often, meaning a shitty passing game and no more super long bomb hail mary's like back in the day.

First couple of hours of Final Fantasy VI. I do not have the strength to get through them. The escort mission of the resistance leader is my own personal hell. Have me play that in a loop and you will see what it is to break a man's spirit.

I hate what they did with Final Fantasy XIII. All the battles basically are a sort of Rock, Paper, Scissor game. You select 3 characters to go into battle, where you can, see which combination works and which one doesn't.

The world doesn't open up, and even when it does, it's just so you can do more tedious battles, in a game that is basically just battles.

The story is underwhelming and predictable, it is explained in both a redundant and inept way that basically tells you 'go read a book instead of playing this game'.

None of the characters are particularly memorable, no one does anything heroic, and when they do, which ends in their sacrifice, you care so little that you may as well be cheering for the bad guys.

Also, almost every character in Mass Effect 1. And I say almost because Garrus and Wrex are the only salvageable thing out of that. Most of the time I forgot Tali or Kaidan were even in the game, I only talked to Ashley because she was next to Wrex and Garrus and Liara had the depth of character of a paper towel, a.k.a. cum depository. Oh, and even Shepard was retarded half the time. Other than that, I liked the game.

Even though games like Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 receive critical acclaim, I find them both very boring. I played through Uncharted 2 on the hardest difficulty setting available for a first playthrough and found that the execution for the shooting and platforming wasn't as smooth or as fun as AC2 and GeOW2. I found it clunky to platform as there'd be a brief time of momentary immobility which would cut the flow of movement, and shooting felt awkward in comparison to GeOW2. Glad I borrowed both those games and didn't pay for them..

And I thought GoWIII only had setpieces and boss fights which really interested me and I found the combat repetitive.

I find hack 'n' slashers boring as they have about 5-20 different variations of enemies (2-5 are simply different colour pallets) which have the same assortment of attacks and after a while you can master it and any pretense of 'newness' is out the window. I find only the boss fights fun but even they have a similar attack pattern.

But thats just my opinion..

I really don't think that Uncharted 2 was aiming to be as good a TPS as GeoW and I agree that the action part wasn't as good as in Assassins Creed, but it brought elements of both games together and it did rather well. Add the whole modern day treasure hunting theme and you got something that will most certainly appeal to gamers. The first Mass Effect brought some clunky shooter action and very shallow character development for an RPG, but it's still hailed generally as a masterpiece and appealed to a very large gaming audience.

I'd say maybe overrated, but Uncharted 2 was in no way a bad game.

I'm not saying it was a bad game. The problem is that if you take two gameplay styles from two well established games and attempt to intertwine them with each other to form one 'ultra' game then you need to execute the gameplay almost exactly as the game you're taking the concepts and fundamental ideas from.

It did it good yes, but with Assassin's Creed II and Gears of War 2 already established in my mind, if the execution of those two separate gameplay styles hadn't been as well done, then the game would of fallen short, at least for me. And it did.

And the whole 'modern treasure hunter' was a bit of a put-off for me, like with all action films, when they claim that they're dealing with something that could threaten the entirety of global security, yet its always just two or three generic protagonists rather than say, an entire military force easily capable of securing whatever needs securing.

Yes I'm being too picky, and Uncharted 2's story was very fun to playthrough and I'm not letting that little thing ruin the game for me, but because the gameplay was flawed for me that ruined it.

Im going to hate on a game ive never player. But ive been watching my girlfriend play it for weeks and im thinking about breaking the disc.

Divinity 2 omfg it sucks.

My BIGGEST BIG problem with it is it plays 2 songs and im almost sure they are each 30 seconds long. The chill music and the fight music, they sure didnt go all out for this one, ive been trying to tell her to just turn the music off.

Most of the time you fly around on a dragon who shoots fireballs and im pretty sure you can shoot anywhere on the screen and still hit the enemy.

All of the close combat is button mashing ftw, something i really hate in games.


I could go on but i think ill go break that disk instead.

I have that one too. Haven't played it yet. Been kept busy by Drakensang and Warhammer.
