Good gaming computer at a good price? 2 Years, 3 Months ago
Well im going to upgrade my computer soon, i think im going to buy something that will let me play some decent games. And i need to run programs like flash editor, and photoshop without slowing down.

www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229124

Thats what i have in mind, but i havent really decided on anything yet. Im also considering building a computer. But i dont know if i want to put the effort into it.

You guys know of anyhting better at a good price? Or any thoughts on this one? Im kinda bad with computer hardware, dont really know whats good.

That computer will play pretty much anything. Pricing is really tricky for pre-built rigs though. One thing you can do is compare. Make out a list of the parts included in the pre-built and do price checks on similar (the same hardware, hardware that is a little better, and hardware that is a little worse) items. Look at the RAM for example. See how much it would cost to buy that same RAM alone, then see what is better than that particular RAM, and then see what is cheaper. Once you have a general price check on all the items you can add the sum and figure out how much less or more you'd have to pay.

Generally building your own PC saves you a lot of money. You also get the added bonus of knowing exactly what you want. "I want a higher end GPU (graphics card) than the one in the pre-built". Of course with that pro you get the con of having to put it all together yourself. If you've never done it before it is a terrifying experience. You don't want to break anything and you run the risk of getting something that is incompatible with other pieces of hardware. Like if you have PCI slots or not.

In short: If you know what you are doing, build your own PC. If you don't, go ahead and go with a pre-built PC. Don't forget to read all the comments people post for the Pros and Cons.

Check out Cyberpowerpc.com They have good comps for gaming and they are at a good price. You can customize them and choose which box you want and just about anything. I have had mine for about 2 years now and it has been great.
